There is no title you need first.
Women join the Global Community from every part of high school sports — athletic administrators and assistant athletic administrators, coaches, athletic trainers, activities directors, school and district leaders, and women whose work intersects with this profession in other ways.
You do not need a particular title, a certain number of years, or a seat you have not been offered yet. If you are working toward your first role in high school sports, you are welcome now — not once you arrive.
And if your formal career is behind you, your place here does not end with it. Retired leaders carry experience, relationships and perspective that the women coming up need, and many stay in this community precisely so they can pass it on.
What membership makes possible
Membership runs in both directions.
Connect
Relationships with women who understand the job without needing it explained.
State Connectors help members find one another across states, roles and career stages. Women connect at national conferences, in virtual sessions, and in the ordinary back-and-forth between people doing the same work in different buildings.
Grow
Learning from women who have done this work, and from women doing it differently.
The Mentor Program pairs women for nine months at a time, as mentors and as mentees, with no job-title requirement. Women who have retired from the profession are also encouraged to serve as mentors, bringing years of experience and perspective to women currently doing the work. Master Classes bring in speakers worth listening to on the subjects that actually come up in this work.
Be seen
Your expertise deserves a wider room than the one you work in.
The Global Community Awards recognize women whose leadership has opened doors for others, and members can nominate the women whose work deserves it. The Speakers Bureau is where members list their experience and the topics they speak on, so GCWHSS can draw on it when speaking opportunities arise.
Contribute
Most of what happens in this community happens because a woman offered it.
Mentor someone earlier in her career. Nominate a woman whose work deserves recognition. Add your name and your topics to the Speakers Bureau. Bring your experience into a conversation where it will help. And as we continue building a shared body of knowledge for women in this profession, contribute what you have learned.

What happens when you join
- Join the Community. Select the Join button and you will continue to the GCWHSS membership portal, which we host through FinalForms. It will look different from this website — that is expected.
- Create or sign into your account. FinalForms manages the membership account, so you will set up a login there, or sign in if you already have one.
- Complete your membership information. You will provide your contact details and information about your work in the profession. Give yourself a few minutes for this step.
- Submit your information. Once you have completed the membership form, submit your information through FinalForms.
