The Global Community of Women in High School Sports believes that no woman should have to navigate sports leadership alone.

Our Community Connectors are the heart of that mission.

Serving as a Community Connector is an opportunity to build relationships, welcome new members, share resources, and help create a stronger network of women and allies across your state. It is a meaningful volunteer role that creates lasting impact through connection, encouragement, and belonging.

This isn’t about adding another leadership position to your résumé.

What Does a Community Connector Do?

Welcome New Members

Reach out to new members from your state with a personal welcome, introduce them to the community, and help them feel connected from day one.

Build Relationships

Connect athletic directors, coaches, athletic trainers, educators, future leaders, and allies with one another while strengthening the network of women in high school sports.

Share Opportunities

Promote GCWHSS Master Classes, mentorship opportunities, leadership resources, networking events, and other programs that help members grow personally and professionally.

Be the Voice of Your State

Celebrate the successes happening in your state, share ideas and feedback with our leadership team, and help us better understand how we can support women in your region.

Foster Community

Encourage conversations, make introductions, answer questions, and help members discover the value of being part of a supportive national network.

Community Connector Responsibilities

Community Connectors commit to serving as a local ambassador for the Global Community by:

• Welcoming new members from their state with a personalized email.
• Following up with new members after their first month to help them stay engaged.
• Sharing GCWHSS programs, events, and leadership opportunities within their networks.
• Celebrating the accomplishments of women in their state.
• Helping identify potential speakers, mentors, partners, and future members.
• Providing feedback about the needs and opportunities within their state.
• Encouraging meaningful connections between members throughout the year.

The time commitment is intentionally manageable, averaging about one hour per week, with flexibility based on your schedule.
