About Missy

Missy Townsend serves as the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Prescott High School. A former Division I basketball player and two-time high school state champion, she is passionate about education-based athletics and its power to develop character, leadership, resilience, and teamwork. Missy is a Certified Master Athletic Administrator and holds leadership roles with both the AIA, AIAAA, and NIAAA. She is committed to creating meaningful opportunities that help student-athletes.

What Missy speaks about

I’m comfortable speaking about education-based athletics and how sports help students develop character, leadership, resilience, and a sense of belonging. As a high school athletic director and assistant principal, I can share practical experience with building program culture, supporting coaches, developing student leaders, working with families, and navigating the challenges that come with school athletics.

I also enjoy talking about leadership in athletic administration, especially how we make thoughtful decisions under pressure, learn from one another, and keep students at the center of our work. My perspective comes from serving students and coaches at Prescott High School and collaborating with athletic administrators across Arizona and nationally.
