Why this exists

Every conference needs speakers. Every athletic association needs voices for its panels. Every district needs someone to lead professional development.

The same names get invited — not because they are the only ones with something to say, but because they are the ones people already know.

Across high school sports there are women doing this work every day who have never been asked. The Speakers Bureau is how they get known.

How joining works

  1. Raise your hand

    Add your name to the Speakers Bureau. It takes about ten minutes, and you can change anything later.

  2. Tell us what you can share

    Your role, your experience, the topics you know — in your own words. No list to squeeze yourself into.

  3. We review, then add you

    We read every submission to check it’s complete and a fit for the Bureau — then your profile joins the directory. It isn’t an audition and there’s nothing to pass.

Being part of the Speakers Bureau doesn’t guarantee a speaking invitation — no one can promise that. What it does is make sure that when someone is looking, they can find you. Most women in this work have never been in that position before.

Who belongs here

If you work in high school sports, you belong here.

Athletic directors, coaches, administrators, trainers and staff. Women who have retired and carry a career’s worth of lessons. Women moving toward this work who bring expertise from somewhere else.

You do not need a speaking résumé. You do not need a keynote on your CV. You need something you know that someone else needs to hear — experience, expertise, perspective, a story, a lesson, an idea that would help someone doing this work.

  2. Tell us what you need

    Found someone? Send a request. Didn’t? Tell us about your event and we’ll look across the whole Bureau.

  3. Connect

    We make the introduction. You and the speaker take it from there.

We’ll connect you with the speaker directly. Dates, format, travel and any honorarium are worked out between the two of you — GCWHSS doesn’t represent speakers or negotiate on their behalf. We’ll get back to you.

Questions

Do I need to have spoken before?

No. That’s the point. Plenty of women in this work have something worth hearing and have simply never been asked.

Do I have to be a Global Community member?

Yes — and it’s free. One membership, no levels, a couple of minutes to join. If you’re not a member yet, say so in the form and we’ll send you the link.

Do I need a presentation already prepared?

No. If you have talks you already give, tell us about them. If you don’t, that’s completely normal and not a barrier.

What happens after I submit?

We read it, check it’s complete and a fit for the Bureau, and then add your profile. It isn’t an audition and there’s nothing to pass.

What if nobody ever asks me to speak?

That can happen, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What changes is that you’re findable — which you weren’t before.

Who handles the details if I’m invited?

You and the organization. We make the introduction; the conversation after that is yours — including dates, travel and any honorarium.

How do I change my information later?

Send us a note and we’ll update it. You’re never locked into what you wrote on day one.
